MusicTechHelpGuy shows how to bus-process a drum stack in Logic Pro for extra punch without squashing the transients. He runs the group through the Studio FET compressor, pulling the attack back and stretching the release long so the initial hit stays intact while the tail gets controlled.
Before the compressor, he adds a Vintage Graphic EQ to lift the mids and top end slightly, giving the drums more perceived punch on top of what the compression does.
With the drum bus adding volume to the mix, he checks the stereo output for clipping and trims the summing stack's channel level to keep headroom intact as more groups get combined.
