This walkthrough from Mastering.com shows how to build a drum foundation in Logic Pro using Apple Loops, without touching a single external sample.
Open the Loop Browser (press O) and search by instrument, genre, or description to find matching material fast. Loop packs like Oak Felder add curated, genre-specific sounds, such as a standout hi-hat, worth downloading for quick wins.
Drag in a drum loop and it often sounds strong immediately. From there, trim and edit the regions to fit your arrangement instead of settling for the loop's default length or feel.
Once the drum elements are arranged, group them into a summing stack (Shift-Command-D) so they move and process together as one drum bus.
