Ableton's Linked Tracks feature offers a layer of mixer control that works both ways: individually and collectively. Selecting a single track within a linked group lets you adjust only that track's mixer parameters, leaving the others untouched.
To move all linked tracks together, clicking the Link Track icon puts the entire group under unified control, so any mixer adjustment applies across all of them simultaneously. Toggling between these two modes is the core workflow here, and it means you're never locked into treating linked tracks as a single unit when you need finer per-track control.
