This official Ableton walkthrough covers the complete round-trip workflow for moving a sketch from the Note iOS app into Ableton Live, using Ableton Cloud or direct file sharing to bridge the two environments.
To get started, open Note's global settings and enable Ableton Cloud, which prompts a browser login to authorize your account. Once enabled, a dedicated Cloud section appears at the top of the interface, where you can store up to five sets and manage them with options to rename, change cover art, or share.
Two export paths are available. The Share To option opens the iOS share sheet, letting you send the set as an .abl file via AirDrop, Dropbox, or any compatible destination. The second path uploads the set directly to Ableton Cloud, making it accessible from Live without manual file transfer.
On the Live side, Cloud sync requires version 11.2 or higher. Enable the Cloud Manager in Live's Library preferences, authenticate via browser, and a Cloud icon appears in the browser panel. Double-clicking any .abl file from there opens it as a native Live project, with each track already loaded with Live's own instruments, ready to take the sketch further.
