This bit focuses on three phase-processing modules in Bitwig Studio's Grid: Phase Reverse, Phase Shift, and Phase Reset. Each one gives you a distinct way to manipulate how step sequencers relate to each other and to the master clock.
Phase Reverse flips the playback direction of a sequencer so two identical sequences run in mirror opposition, never landing on the same step at the same time. Phase Shift offsets a sequencer by a percentage of the cycle, so a 50% shift keeps it permanently halfway out of phase regardless of how many steps the sequencer has.
Phase Reset is the most performance-oriented of the three. It retriggers all sequencers from the beginning every time a new note comes in, so the starting position becomes dependent on your playing rather than the clock. The sequencers stay in sync with each other internally, but their entry point shifts with each new MIDI event.
