From there, clicking steps on and off builds out the rest of the pattern by feel, with velocity and gate controls shaping how hard each hit lands and how long it decays, useful for tightening a kick or stretching a bass note's tail.
Once the groove feels right, dragging it straight into the Arrangement window converts it to MIDI, so you can turn off the sequencer and keep shaping the part inside your normal arrange workflow.
