Tokøta from Mastering.com introduces Sample Alchemy, Logic Pro's newest sampler, built on the same granular, additive, and spectral engines as Alchemy but scaled up for granular work specifically.
After loading a melodic Apple Loop, he walks through the playback modes: Classic for straightforward granular playback, Scrub for that glitchy stepped texture, Bow for a smooth back-and-forth motion through the sample, and AR for rhythmic triggering, each with its own dedicated rate or speed parameter.
He also tours the filter section, including standard low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass options alongside a comb filter, a downsampler for bitcrushing, and a frequency modulator for grittier textures.
Rounding it out are snap modes for syncing grains to transients or the beat, and a mod matrix for routing modulation once you're ready to go deeper than default settings.
