This walkthrough covers the trigger and lifecycle controls in Ableton's Bouncy Notes device. Drop Mode decides when a ball spawns, either on key Press or on Release, giving control over whether hits or note-offs drive the bouncing pattern.
Lifetime sets how long a ball can bounce around before it's removed, up to four bars by default. Turning it down shortens that window further, and balls that stop bouncing get cleared out early regardless of the Lifetime setting.
Auto mode spawns balls automatically as long as Live's transport is running, at a rate you set independently of any incoming MIDI. Since balls can pile up fast at quicker rates, the Voices parameter caps how many can play at once, keeping the texture from turning into an unmanageable mess of overlapping bounces.
