Ableton's Shifter includes a built-in Delay section that does more than add simple echoes. The effect it produces depends entirely on which mode Shifter is running in, making it a versatile tool with a range of sonic outcomes from a single control.
In Pitch Shifting mode, the delay can create chorus-like thickening. In Frequency Shifting mode, it tends toward cascading pitch effects, where repeats drift in pitch rather than looping back to the same note.
