Nathan James Larsen tackles the quantize-vs-feel tradeoff in Logic Pro with a record-then-fix example. He records a simple part with natural timing slips, then shows two ways to correct it without flattening the groove.
First method: instead of fully quantizing to 100%, dial back the strength percentage (try 50% or 80%) to nudge notes toward the grid while keeping some of the original timing variation.
Second method: quantize fully to 100%, then use Functions > MIDI Transform > Humanize to reintroduce subtle timing randomness algorithmically, so perfectly gridded notes don't sound stiff.
Both approaches solve the same problem from opposite directions, easing off correction versus adding variation back in, giving you options depending on how a part was played and how much human feel it needs.
